Interprofessional Education and Resource Center as part of the Academic Health Center Office of Education

Welcome to the IERC!

Opened in January 2003, the Interprofessional Education and Resource Center (IERC) provides unique facilities and services to develop and assess students' clinical skills. The Center offers faculty the opportunity to prepare students for a professional world under simulated situations before going into practice settings. Center staff and facilities are here to help Academic Health Center (AHC) faculty and students by:

Assessing students' clinical skills

Providing education development in student outcomes assessment

Providing support for interdisciplinary education in order to strengthen our health care workforce

The IERC is open for use by all AHC schools and colleges and for use by non-AHC units and other clients on a fee-for-service basis. Explore the links on the left to meet the staff, receive updates on Center activities, learn about and schedule use of the Center's facilities and simulators, and become familiar with clinical skills assessment in teaching.

Five AHC faculty who discuss their experiences using the IERCHear How Faculty Use the IERC

We know you can’t always attend workshops or talk to one of us directly, so we’re constantly upgrading the information and services available online. Take a look at our Hear from Faculty feature.

We’ve interviewed five faculty members from across the AHC who actively use the IERC. They describe their use of our facilities and services and reflect on how the IERC has impacted their teaching and assessment experiences. Let us know if this is something you’d like to see more of in the future.
