Scheduling and Use

The IERC has a number of simulators and models to enhance teaching and learning. The most sophisticated equipment is StanMan and SimMan (two high-fidelity patient simulators with pulses and heart, lung, bowel, and vocal sounds), as well as CathSim (an interactive learning device to practice venipuncture for intravenous catheterization and phlebotomy).

The links on the right above provide photos and descriptions of the simulators and models, as well as scheduling and use information.

Demonstrations and Consultations

Please contact Becky Harrison, Senior Sim Technician, at 612-626-6339 or harr0872@umn.edu for a demonstration of any of the simulators.

Becky Harrision and Jane Miller, the IERC Director, are available to consult with you about integrating the use of simulators into your curriculum. You may contact Jane Miller at mille142@umn.edu or 612-624-6989.
