Meet the Staff
Jane
Lindsay Miller, Ph.D., Director
Jane Miller has been the Director of the IERC since its
opening in January 2003. Before joining the Office of Education staff as the
Director of Teaching and Learning Initiatives, she served as Director of the
MnSCU Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the System Director for Academic
Professional Development.
Dr. Miller’s areas of expertise include organizational
and faculty development in higher education, especially in the design and delivery
of effective instruction, assessing student outcomes, and designing and conducting
classroom research.
Prior to coming to Minnesota, she served as a program officer
with the United Nations Development Programme, evaluating and delivering maternal-child
health care training programs in West Africa. As a doctoral candidate in medical
anthropology at the New School for Social Research, she worked on a project
sponsored jointly by Hunter College School of Public Health and the Columbia
University School of Public Health to develop and assess culturally specific
HIV/AIDS prevention programs for diverse communities in New York City.

Rebecca (Becky) Harrison, Simulations Coordinator

Patricia Rizzi, Instructional Technology Coordinator
Pat Rizzi coordinates all training activities associated with the use of the Center's technology including closed circuit video equipment, computer laptops, B-Line Clinical Skills System (online exam management software), and teaching simulators. She is also the Center's Web Master.
Ms. Rizzi is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and has been an instructional designer in the Academic Health Center since 1973. She has worked with numerous faculty and staff from the AHC academic units on a variety of educational development projects. Her expertise is using multimedia to enhance teaching and learning.

Anne
Woll, M.S., Center Manager and
Coordinator for the Standardized Patient Program
Anne Woll is the Center’s Manager
and Coordinator for the Standardized Patient Program. She earned her Master’s
degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Communications
and Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
At Madison, Ms. Woll worked
with a distance education program for clinicians transitioning into healthcare
management careers. She also conducted research focused on understanding students’ experiences in distance education and the impact of program design on their
participation and completion.
Prior to her graduate coursework, she worked
within healthcare, managing a pediatric medical practice in Evanston, Illinois.
